Dana grew up surfing and gardening in San Diego. They studied Environmental Science and Forestry at UC Berkeley, where they discovered a passion for agroecology: a holistic, justice-oriented approach to farming. Since then, they've been working in organic agriculture along the CA coast, milking goats and pruning fruit trees. They are participating in the Grizzlycorps fellowship program in order to gain experience working on projects that conserve the watersheds and soils that sustain farms, ranches, vineyards, and forests. Already, they have had the opportunity to collect data on a healthy soils demonstration project, monitor stream flow, and use fire to manage invasive shrubs on rangeland. They are grateful to be serving at the Upper-Salinas Las Tablas RCD, where staff involve them in the planning and implementation of projects that manage multiple objectives in a variety of working landscapes.
