AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Program Member
Sal graduated from Humboldt State University in 2016 with a B.S. in Environmental Science emphasized in Ecological Restoration. During his time in college he gained experience as a field naturalist, educating students from elementary classrooms in botany, wildlife, ecology, and history of indigenous tribes of California. He also gained hands-on experience implementing vegetation management, and soil management projects as a groundskeeper at Humboldt State University. His interest in hands-on land stewardship has driven him to seek opportunities to develop his skillset for working with the land. Currently, Sal is a member of the Watershed Stewards Program serving under the mentorship of the US-LTRCD.
